> PUJA : WHAT IS NECESSARY

Source: Private archive

By now you have an understanding that nothing is necessary but devotion and thoughtless awareness. The PUJA ceremony is a sweet expression that allows human beings to enact the play of giving and receiving. The expression:

"GOD RETURNS A HUNDRED FOLD"

Shows that the Divine is impatient that this gesture of offering is done because He is so desirous of bathing us in His benevolence and His love.

You can use this document in 3 ways:

1. To prepare oneself for a major Puja in Shri Mataji's presence.

2. As a guide for the centres that wish to do a collective Puja on some special occasion.

3. As a guide for a simple Puja at home.

The first way is the complete ceremony which allow one to prepare oneself for a major Puja in Shri Mataji's Presence. The offerings are not without significance. The visionaries and sages, who devised the Puja and Mantras, knew what they were doing and Shri Mataji has arranged the Protocol. This indicates that it remains flexible and adaptable to circumstances.

It is done so that people please the DEITIES which are worshipped in the presence of Shri Mataji; no rituals can replace vibratory awareness and perception of the Grace. On the contrary, ritualism works against it. Although we love our Mother, the worship of the Divine cannot take place without respect, so there is a need for respect and protocol. The more devotion and love we have for the Divine, the more respect manifests. The first way to begin is by reading about and discovering this ceremony.

Secondly, this document is a guide for the centres that wish to do a collective Puja on some special occasion. What is important is to follow the procedure in order. One can ever miss certain parts, sign, or be silent, or read a list of names because these are none other than offerings themselves.

Thirdly, there is a simple Puja at home. The simple washing of the LOTUS FEET OF SHRI MATAJI, offering perfume, flowers, a hymn or two, the light and incense, is sufficient.

The following pages offer a model that will be useful as a vehicle for the expression of devotion.
